Why FDA Neither Proves Or Disproves Natural Cures
Natural cures have not always been well received by the medical establishment. A lot of people wonder why some doctors shun natural remedies because they do not understand the function of the Food And Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA serves an important part of our health regulatory structure in this nation. It's primary purpose is to protect you and me from harmful substances and to make sure they work like they are suppose too. Anything that is a controlled substance falls under their control and testing. The effectiveness of food products however does not fall under their controll. Packaging labels and condition of the factories that produce the food items on the shelf are controlled through the FDA. The FDA does not test food products to determine their effectiveness. It's important that you know that Herbs are considered by the FDA as a food product. The FDA does not test herbs or regulate herbs, nor does the FDA compile private sponsored scientific data on the effectiveness of herbs to influence you in your buying decision. While their is plenty of scientific data available on the active ingredients in natural hair loss products and their effectiveness in fighting hair loss, the FDA does not recognize this data as being viable evidence since it does not run its on test to scrutinize this data to determine its efficacy. The medical establishment relies on the results of the FDA findings to bring both protection and standards to their industry. Herbal products do not fall under this umbrella of protection and scrutiny. While the evidence exist from scientific research that herbs can be effective, herbal remedies do not enjoy the same endorsement from medical establishment as drugs do. When you read information from certain web sites that deal with hair loss and the available products, they often parrot the stand of the FDA and the medical establishment and claim there is no credible evidence that natural hair loss products work. You have to realize that within their frame work no credible evidence exist because the FDA doesn't test herbs or evaluate independent scientific evidence. Nutritionist are an exception to this. Many nutritionist do recognize the independent research on herbs as being viable. In fact many conduct their own scientific studies to determine if specific herbs could be used in natural cures.
